Platypus & Bird Viewing
One of the most talked about activities at Fountainhead Organic Retreat and Baths is held each Saturday morning weather permitting. Gail our resident wildlife expert leads our now famous Platypus and Bird watching walkabout. The walk sets off at 7:30am each Saturday after meeting in front of the main Fountainhead Retreat. The tour lasts for approximately 90 minutes and Gail will lead you around Fryers Creek, Walkers Creek and their junction. She will show you the beautiful Lake Kanandario as well as Platypus Lake. Most weeks except in breeding season (just past) Platypus are seen. Also the plethora of bird life can include Pelicans, Magpie Geese, King Parrots and a cast of Thousands. Part of your retreat you will never forget.

Casual visitors to the Maleny area can join Gail and the Fountainhead Guests by booking ahead and being at the retreat ready to go at 7:15am. Please refer to the Map to Fountainhead to find us. Bookings can be made by calling the Customer Service Team and pre paying. Payment must be received to confirm your booking. Numbers are limited each week so book early to avoid disappointment. Cost per person $29.50 includes herbal tea and Organic fruit breakfast afterwards.
