Fountainhead was originally a dairy farm and has been turned into an Avocados orchard oprox 20 years ago. WP looked at over 400 properties over ten years to find "Fountainhead".

Wayne paints the Fountainhead picture,
"Bill Mollison told me to find water, water & water when looking for the site for our Farm.' Fountainhead certainly has that." Located only I km from the Maleny Post off ice, less than 1 hour north of Brisbane airport & with spectacular views of the

glass house mountains, Fountainhead has many water sources. The springs on the property percolate over a million litres a day, Fryers & Walkers Creek run thru the property and over four areas of Lake make an impressive site.
"The main production will eventually be from the water, Parrott states."Red Claw, local yabbies, duck, rice & fish will all be worked into a Bio Diverse moving, Aquaculture. But that is about three years away. The sensitive creeks lead to the local Baroon Pocket Dam which is the Caloundra/Maroochydore water supply. So we will work diligently in our planning to ensure that our relationship with that water supply is enhanced."
"All, ready,we have acted upon requests from the local Water authorities in regard to high
levels of dairy effluent finding its way into the water way." After meeting with some
local dairy producers Fountainhead has setup a worm form to "clean" this waste product then put it through our composting system. This creates clean compost, vermiculite & worm juice as well as ridding the water of the pathogens that it previously was absorbing. "A Permaculture Solution if ever I have heard one, Parrott concluded, "and the attitude of the Local dairy farmers was great".

400 Avocados trees & 100 citrus, (will be increased with Exotic Citrus to aprox 800 as well) will have Blueberry, Lychees & Figs added to them.
Fully 2 acres of zone one & two is being built at the moment.
Total self sufficiency within 5 years is the fountainhead goal.

During this period an organic co/op will be set up processing produce for local consumption.

FAUNA

" Fountainhead is blessed to have living with us, a family of Platypus, a colony of Echidnas & Water Dragons. Magpie Geese visit often . Wedge Tailed Eagle and Peregrine Falcon are often sighted.

A host of wetland birds prevail along with many woodland species. My particular favourite is the Lewin's Honey Eater.
