Whether you are looking for work experience to help break into the industry in an Internship (3 - 4 Months work experience and training ) or a scholorship, (where the trust can pay your way) or a career position, or you are looking to become a Life Coach and help people cure their ilness, Fountainhead offers a most challenging environment to work in. The retreat exists for people to grow in a personal development manner.

We offer training in Three areas of our business including:

Internships at Fountainhead Health Resort

Fountainhead Trust is offeringinternships for graduates and final year students and the occasional one for non academics with loads of passion in the following fields: Naturopathy, Chinese Naturel Therapies, Various body work, Business Management, Sales & Marketing, Cooking and Healthy food production, Organic Gardening and Permaculture. The period is for a three to six month “work experience” commitment and is based on a 90 hour fortnight, covering most areas of the Health Retreat business. At no time is this relationship to be interpreted as that of employer and employee. Typical areas include:

Housekeeping
Nutrition and Catering
Spa therapies
Hosting
Marketing/Internet specialisation
Management
Mind Body Connection

The purpose of this internship program is to help the industry to develop to a high standard of caring and healing.

Trial and Introduction period:

The first period (4-8 weeks) will cover time in each department ascertaining if you have the character for such a demanding industry. If you don’t like getting your hands dirty or oily please do not apply. At the end of this period we will let you know if you are ready to stay on and be trained in your key area. Cost per week here is $380.

Training Period:

The key areas of interest will be targeted mainly (approx 60%) over the rest of your program. The hosting team will be the group that the intern normally reports to in the first instance unless marketing is the key focus. Accommodation on site, board and bill contribution, providing of 3 meals or Organic juices per day is provided during the program. This contribution along with joining in with certain activities and training is charged to you at $450 week. The trust pays for any external training that may be required.

Jobs:

Successful candidates completing the four month program will gain a certificate in Holistic Counselling, (Trained by Greg Neville ND) as a minimum. This is the area of healing that Fountainhead focus on. Some beauty work, (Mud Wraps & facials) some massage work, (by our most experienced practitioners) nutrition and food preparation, (our chef’s) housekeeping, (hands on) organic gardening, (Hands on) supervision and leadership work, (hands on and observation) and marketing, (hands on) are all areas where skills will be developed. A full reference outlining work completed and skills gained along with notes on attitudes and abilities will be supplied. If we have deemed that your work is of a high standard you may be offered a position with us (Our last two managers commenced their training with us as Interns.)

Some more detail...

1. Life Coach Training. Run by Michelle Mark our "Life Coach's Coach this course content includes a full weekend intensive seminar covering Depressive and anxiety disorders.
A further eight training sessions covering all areas required to turn this philosophy into Life Coaching Skills. A Fountainhead Certificate in Life Coaching is earnt with this course. One course each month. Next one starts April 9th, 2008. Total educational and seminar hours 40. Practical exercises and home work, practicle work available at Foutainhead Retreat, aprox 12 hours practise and a final evaluation and test. Pick an illness to specialise in besides Clinical Depression which is the core subject.
Total Cost $3250.
Work opportunities: Plenty in Maleny at head office , and Sunshine coast, Queensland $30/hr upward. From early 2009 also new positions in Sydney and Melbourne with the Australian Depression Institute.

2. Other Internships. Full 2-4 month introduction to industry. Will include basics such as kitchen, Organic Gardening and housekeeping and generaloverview of business. If continuing to months 3 & 4 will pick specialisation from either Body work, Management and Supervision, Organic Kitchen work, Organic Gardening, Sales and Marketing. All positions extended on to month 3 & 4 will do life coach traing, (as outlined in positions above). Cost per week weeks 1-8, $380. Weeks 9-16 $450.
Total cost Phase one: $3040 Phase Two: $3600. Weekly mentoring. Each phase paid in advance.
Work Opportunities: Plenty in Maleny for top performers. Last two Retreat managers came through this program. More interstate positions in sales, marketing, life coaching and retreat/conference organisation and management over next two years onward.

Accommodtion and Meals are provided as well as the trust covers your utility contribution and training course.

3.Scholorships for Internships: As above but 6 positions annually where the trust covers all your fees and provides a stipend for pocket money, ($100 week). All work experience and training is at our Organic Farm in Maleny, Queensland, one hour north of Brisbane. Accommodation is available for Intenships. We currently employ over 45 staff and contractors and have an aggressive rollout plan for the next two years which will take us to 100 staff nationally. Our last two Retreat Managers came from an Internship with us as part of their training.

	Michelle Mark joined the Fountainhead Team in 2005 under our Internship training program specalising in Yoga and managemnt. She rose quickly through the ranks to become Cutomer Services Manager then Operations Director. Michelle is now writing a series of books and CD's explaining the Fountainead Method.
